A very warm welcome to Chase The Wild Goose Hostel. Located just a short distance from Fort William town centre, the hostel is an ideal base for climbing Ben Nevis, visiting the Nevis Range and riding the Jacobite Steam Train (aka Hogwarts Express).This is a fantastic hostel in Fort William, with friendly environment and beautiful surroundings. The hostel is located at Banavie, close to the Caledonian Canal with the Lochy Bar and Moorings Hotel just a stones throw away for meals and refreshments after a long day on the hill or touring the Scottish Highlands.THE HOSTEL provides shared accommodation to meet the budget accommodation needs of individuals, families, backpackers and small groups. Theres a small self-catering kitchen should you want to cook your own meals, but you can buy a fantastic 'All-you-can-eat-anytime' continental breakfast for just a few pounds. You can eat it any time, even before you go to bed. Being a little out of town we hope to offer a better nights sleep before your energetic day on the hills than perhaps you might receive in a town centre establishment.OUR GUESTS - The hostel is also a popular stop-over for enthusiasts on the 3-peaks challenge, walkers of the Great Glen Way and West Highland Way and caters for visitors to the Mountain Bike challenges nearby, water sports enthusiasts and cxan even organise a mountain guide to take you up Ben Nevis.BEN NEVIS - To top all this, the area is renowned for having the best views of Ben Nevis.'HOGWARTS EXPRESS' - If you are less energetic, visit Neptunes Staircase or ride the famous Jacobite steam train featured in the Harry Potter films, as the 'Hogwarts Express'. Directions

By TrainThe hostel is located just 100metres from Banavie Train Station (on the Glasgow-Fort William-Mallaig line), on the road to Gairlochy close to the Moorings Hotel. On arrival at the station, cross the canal and head north into Banavie. Look for the building with the flagsBy Bus From Skye into and through Corpach, alight bus at Banavie. Take Gairlochy road for 100 metres, turn left looking for the building with the flags. If you arrive at the Moorings Hotel you have gone too far...From Fort William, the bus to SkyeMallaig, or the Local Corpach bus, alighting at the Banavie stop. Cross the main road and into Banavie, then directions as aboveFrom InvernessKyle of Lochalsh by City Link, alight the bus at the A82 junction with the Road to the Isles (A830), cross the river then walk past the High School on the right. After about 1.5 km cross the canal and directions as aboveBy Car Travel north from Fort William on the A82, signed Inverness. After 1 miles, turn left on the A830 for Mallaig. After 1 mile, cross the canal and take a right turn, then 3rd left. Expect to see a large building with flags on the roof. On FootIf walking, take a shortcut from Fort William to Banavie following the signs for the 'Great Glen Way'. Approach Banavie by way of the Caledonian Canal, cross the Canal, then directions as above.
